Service Description

$325 · Ages 7–14 · M/W/F 9am–12pm · 6 kids max · All materials included · Polymer clay take-home on Friday · Ceramic pieces kiln-fired and ready for pickup 2–3 weeks after camp ends Topanga becomes the inspiration this week. Kids will use real leaves, bark, shells, and natural textures to create ceramic pieces that hold the feel of canyon trails, tide pools, ridgelines, and ocean edges. Monday begins with pressing found textures into clay slabs, then cutting those slabs into tiles and using the same impressions to begin a coil-built vessel. Every piece starts with something real. Wednesday, once the clay firms up, kids carve into the surfaces—adding wave lines, canyon silhouettes, tide pool details, plant forms, or abstract patterns pulled from the landscape. They’ll refine their vessel and, if time allows, create an additional relief tile. Friday is for underglaze painting, with earthy neutrals, ocean blues, mossy greens, warm terracottas, or any palette the landscape inspires. Then they’ll make a small polymer clay magnet using a leaf or shell impression to take home that afternoon. Camp runs with a minimum of 3 enrolled students. Families will be notified in advance if minimum enrollment is not met.
