Wren (Speckled Buff Stoneware)

Wren is a warm, speckled buff mid-fire stoneware with light grog and a semi-smooth surface. The subtle speckling adds visual interest while maintaining a clean, refined feel at the wheel.

Fired in our electric oxidation kilns at Cone 6, it develops a soft buff tone with natural speckles throughout the body.

Average Shrinkage: ~12%

Absorption Rate: ~2.45%

Texture: Light grog, semi-smooth

With approximately 12% shrinkage, finished pieces will reduce in size from wet to fired state. Plan accordingly for fitted forms or dimensional work.

At 2.45% absorption, this clay falls within functional stoneware range when properly fired and glazed. Fully glaze functional ware to ensure water resistance and durability.
